OOC: Hope this part makes sense. I know very little about Mag's movie lair... so I kinda wimped out.

"This is bad, this is very bad," Cassandrea rambled as she made a sharp turn. First of all, Logan was so *not* following the speed limit, not that he cared or anything. Second, they were headed towards Magneto's lair. She prayed to all the gods and goddesses she could name that Sarah was safe.

The group slowed as they neared the base of a hill. Magneto's lair sat high above them.

"Sarah's here," Logan said quietly.

"Are you sure? Maybe--"

"She's here," he nodded, cutting Cassie off. No one said anything, but they all knew Logan wouldn't be able to do much against Magneto. Then again, they all knew it wouldn't stop him from trying. "We go in, get the girl and get out."

Cassie frowned. "Mr. Logan, we're in deep. We should go back and tell the Professor. Get a full team together."

"No!" Max growled. "We're already here and I'm not leaving without Sarah. Who knows what could happen to her by the time the X-Team gets here. She could be... they could..." Tears stung at his eyes again. "I'm not leaving."

Rogue placed a reassuring hand on Max's shoulder. "We're gonna get her out of there, okay? And I mean right now. I know what it's like in there. We're getting her out." She hugged him quickly then stepped over to confer with Cassandrea. "You gonna help us save Sarah or what?"

"Of course I am! I can't just leave my roomie with the bad guys. 'Sides, I got the only active power here. What're you guys gonna do without me?" Cassie joked. Truthfully, her power wasn't that strong and what was she gonna do? Give the Brotherhood showers? Though from what she heard, Sabertooth could use one.

Logan walked up to the girls, Max at his side. "Glad to hear we're all together on this. I'll take point, take 'em by surprise before Magnet Head pins me down. Rogue, you and Cassandrea follow behind me. Max, you take the rear. Sarah is your main priority - find her and get her out. Are we clear?"

Rogue looked as if she wanted to protest, but simply nodded. "Yeah, sugah, we're clear."

"Good. Let's go."

OOC: Action scenes coming up could be tricky. I suggest we do shorter, action oriented posts with our own characters vs Brotherhood. Feel free to include an extra baddie or two. Someone wanna take Wolvie since he's off by himself (kinda)? Cassie and Rogue are with Max.

Just suggestions, so feel free to do whatever Like I said to Jen, this thing has a life of its own.

OOC: Well, since nobody seems ready to jump into the action, I thought I’d throw you in. You can thank me later.

Sarah departed the office imagining the look on the General’s face when he found out his project had been stolen. Now if only there was a way to make sure he knew I was the one who did it. Sarah turned the corner and her smile faltered. Sabertooth blocked her path.

Sarah couldn’t wait to get away from the towering feline mutant. Unlike Max, this one tasted... dangerous. Sarah could afford some arrogance right now. Until the job was over, she was safe. Once she’d finished this job, however, she had no illusions of that continuing. Unless she convince Magneto of her continued usefulness. "Let me see the boss." Sabertooth stood his ground, baring his teeth and snarling. Sarah rolled her eyes. "You do English, right? Take. Me. To. Your. Boss." She was spared having to try sign language by Magneto’s appearance.

"Ah my dear, will you be able to do it?"

"Yes sir. I can do it. Here’s a list of what I’ll need." Sarah handed over the list, her eyes glittering with excitement.

"Come with me and tell me all about it."

Sarah fell in behind Magneto, her momentary fear of Creed vanishing in her.

The klaxon blared and Magneto whirled, glaring down at Sarah. "It seems your friends have come for you," Magneto sneered.

Friends? Sarah thought. What friends?

"Watch her." Creed snarled and bared his teeth, more than happy to comply with that order. Holding her meant the fight would come to him.

And he was ready for a fight.

We'd scaled the walls of the place, but Logan was faster than the rest of us. I think he was going in to make the snatch. I'd done a lot of growling and pacing, letting him know that I wanted find Sarah too, but he just shot me a look that calmed me.

"Don't worry kid," it said, "I'll get her, and you'll be seein' her in no time."

Cassie, Rogue and I were going to draw away the bulk of the bad guys as it were, and that was going to be due to a little gratuitous vandalism.

Wrecking the bad guy's joint. My faaaavourite.

Sadly, Magneto's lair didn't have much on decor, in fact it was pretty much austere in it's layout. Thankfully, Rogue was there to get creative.

"Make way," she said with a grin, "I'm gonna do some interior decoratin'!"

She started punching holes in the wall. It was awesome. I wasn't sure what Cassie had in mind, but I loped over to the wall and started scratching my mark on the place. It wouldn't be long before Mag-Nut-O's reinforcements came to face us off...

OOC: Thanks, Jen

Cassie itched to join her teammates in their destruction of the place, but her mutation wasn't really going to be that helpful against solid rock. "Guys, I'm going to scout ahead, see if I can find Sarah." She didn't wait to see if they heard her.

Three turns and a stretch of corridor later, she really hoped they had.

"Hello there," the green-haired woman smiled. "Won't father be pleased when I bring him Xavier's little witch." The woman's emerald eyes sparkled as she lifted her hands, ripping the metal pipes from the walls and cackling as she wrapped them tightly around Cassie's body.

Without thinking, Cassandrea morphed into her liquid form and slid easily from the constricting pipes. /I'm gonna have to thank Ms. Munroe for all those lessons,/ she mused. Dashing forward, she changed her right arm back into solid flesh just in time to connect solidly with the woman's jaw.

Too bad Polaris was her own personal forcefield.

OOC: The story goes that Lorna Dane's (Polaris) mutation was forced and she was told that she was Magneto's daughter (even though it was a robotic Magneto..). She later joins the X-Men and marries Soctt's brother, Alex. Just a bit of Comic Geek trivia.

I gave her a lot more power than she normally has in the comics because er.. it'd be more fun that way.

Creed stalked down the hall, grinning at his good fortune. The X-Men were coming. That meant he could have another go around with the runt. Maybe the Weather Witch would come this time. She still owed him a scream.

Sarah’s head swirled. One minute she was standing in the hall talking to her (hopefully) new employer, the next she was tossed over Sabretooth’s shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "Put me down. I’m not gonna give you any trouble." His response was to laugh and to dig his claws deeper into the back of her thighs.

Sarah hit the floor of her cell with an unceremonious thump. She could feel her blood, hot and sticky, still running down her legs, the punctures slowly healing. "Magneto’s gonna be pissed if you kill me."

Creed laughed. "I won’t kill you," he promised, approaching slowly. "Not yet anyway."

Sarah lashed out; aiming for the one place every man was vulnerable and bolted for the open door. Howling, Creed lunged for the escaping girl, his meaty paw catching and tightening around her ankle. Sarah felt the bones give with a sickening snap, but didn’t give up, slamming her uninjured foot into his face, shattering his nose. Creed roared and raked his claws across Sarah’s back. "That wasn’t very nice," he growled backhanding her.

Dazed, Sarah lay on the floor, her blood pooling around her, as Creed knelt over her, drawing a claw down her throat.

"Scream for me," he sneered, pressing his claws deeper into her flesh.

And she did.

OOC: So who's going to rescue her?

It was whilst I threw a more sizable boulder of plaster and brick against a wall that I smelt it...

Blood.

It rushed in on a current of air, and my heart clenched. I knew that smell... it was like her flesh purified, intensified. Now I did rip at my clothes, and with a guttural roar I started down the corridor, galloping on all fours.

"HEY! COME BACK HERE!"

Rogue. I just roared. I could hear her scream out at me.

"THIS ISN'T THE PLAN!"

She soon grew quiet, but I knew she'd be after me. I wasn't sure where I was going. I just let my nose lead me. Down silvery passage-ways, some rocky, some a faded blue plaster. I heard her then, the breath of a struggle. I skidded round a corner and felt my blood grow cold.

This huge fucking hell-beast of a man was curled over her, gripping her ankles, twisting them at strange angles... Sarah's face was screwed up in pain.

Again, I roared. It was like no roar I'd ever done before. It came from the very soles of my feet, my whole body shuddering at the sound. It was a deep noise, it would rattle a window, and even Sarah seemed to pale at the noise. I extended my claws, growling deeply, gnashing my teeth.

The big cat guy stood, a low chuckle falling through him. "Lookee... little kitty wants ta play..."

I didn't spare him words, or even another sound. I threw myself at him, claws gleaming, throat on fire as a bellowing roar lifted from my chest.

His claws clamped down on my ribcage, and the tussle began.

She lunged and tackled the liquid-form girl. "Your powers are no match for mine," Polaris sneared. "My father has trained me personally."

/Why do evil mutant always have to brag about their powers?/ Cassie thought, slipping out of Polaris' grasp with more difficulty this time. She had to end this fight quickly - that was Sarah's scream she had heard moments before.

Polaris ripped bolts from the walls around her, firing them like bullets at Cassandrea. Most passed harmlessly through Cassie's body, but she wasn't concentrating enough - part of her arm morphed back into flesh and a bolt ripped through.

Cassandrea yelped in pain and shifted back into flesh form. She crouched defensively as Polaris grinned down at her. Cassie riffled quickly through the spells stowed in her mind before finding one powerful enough to take Polaris out in one shot.

"Kali, Hera, Kronos, Tonic," she whispered quickly. "Air like nectar, thick as onyx." The air around her began to charge, blue energy sparking from her body.

"What the..?" Polaris scowled as she found herself unable to move.

"Cassiel by your second star, hold mine victim as in tar," Cassie finished.

"Let me go, witch!" the froze form snarled. She still had limited control of her powers and started to pull metal objects from the room slowly towards her.

"Oh no you don't," Rogue growled, appearing suddenly. The skunk-haired girl dashed forward, punching the motionless woman square in the jaw. She hit the floor with such intensity that she'd no doubt suffered a concussion. "Cass, we ain't got time for this. Sarah and Max are in trouble. I don't even know where the hell Logan has gone off to. Let's go!"

"By the way," the southerner asked as they ran down the hall. "Didn't I hear that spell on an episode of Buffy?"

Cassie shrugged. "Hey, whatever works."

OOC: This is really short. Really, really short. And really guys... I just wanted to help.:big grin:

"You got a plan," Cassie asked as she and Rogue raced down another hall, following the screams, wanting more than anything else to be running in the other direction. /Maybe I’m not cut out for this super hero stuff./

"Yup." Rogue pulled off her gloves. "Let’s kick some ass." Cassie blanched and looked at her insane friend for a split second before shifting to her water form.

Logan snarled and raced down another hall, drawn by the mixing scents of Max and Sarah’s blood, praying this passageway didn’t dump him on the edge of another un-bridged chasm or, even worse, run him straight into Magneto.

It just wasn’t Logan’s day.

OOC: And where - pray tell - is Mystique? Anyone?

Pain. It ripped through me. Every little spot in my body was in fire. Sabretooth had me crushed underneath him, claws ripping at my flesh. I'd heal a little as he moved to get the next swipe. I could feel his claws catch on an exposed rib, and I bit down a howl in agony.

My own claws dug into him, dug in his eyes, dug in his muscles and I roared, growling. I could hear Sarah behind me, breathing hard, and by the looks of her ankles... woah. There's bone sticking out of one of them. She tried to straighten it, to get the bone back inside... her scream echoed off the walls and made me all the more enraged. I couldn't do anything but claw at Sabertooth. I dug my claws in and pulled. Flesh dropped away and Sabertooth roared, and all but sunk his fingers into my abdomen.

My vision started going funny. Couldn't breath too well. Grunted, tried to get up, but Sabertooth was just sitting over me, sniffing. I lifted my head up, then looked to Sarah. I tilted my brows up, meeting her blue eyes.

Sarah was full of tears, shaking her head. I swallowed, blood in my throat...

Blackness engulfed me.

OOC: I don't know how they got there and I don't care. It's been a really long week.

Rogue flung herself off the ground and slammed Mystique into the wall. "Cass, get Sarah and Max. Now!" Cassie was about to protest, but saw Wolverine approaching rapidly and raced away.

The sight she saw in the next room stopped her cold.

Blood - it was everywhere. Cassandrea barely managed to keep her lunch down; she wanted to run from the sight of it all. The blood-soaked hulk standing over Max's body was probably going to make that difficult.

"Well, well. Looks like I've got another brat to play with," Sabertooth grinned maliciously.

Cassandrea heard Sarah gasp her name. /At least she's still alive,/ Cassie thought with a tiny spark of hope. "I've already has enough of you people for the day," she managed to say with feigned bravado. "Why don't I just get me friends out of here and you can go about your business. Whatever that is."

Victor Creed roared and charged, intending to gut the girl as easily as he had the boy. Cassandrea morphed back into her water form and the sharp claws slid through her harmlessly.

"That all ya got?" she taunted. Sure, it probably wasn't the greatest idea for her to be doing that, but she was scared. And when Cassie gets scared, Cassie shoots her mouth off. "Come on, Kitty, let's play."

OOC: Okay, someone finish this baby off. Please?! Cassie can't save the day.. I mean, she's Cassie. No saving the world for this girl. Hmm... Magnet-Head's been noticably absent...
