Professor Xavier Professor Charles Xavier
Alias: none
First Appearance: Page 1, 7 july 2001, 10:39pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 50. One of the greatest telepaths in the world, Xavier is the X-Men's teacher and mentor. Met and befriended his future arch-enemy, Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto), in Isreal during World War II. Their differences in philosophy drove a wedge between them. Xavier is a believer in peace and understanding and based his approach to the problem of mutant-human relations on education and goodwill. He founded the Xavier Institute in Westchester, NY - a safe haven for mutant to seek refuge and learn about their powers.

Professor X can probe people's minds to read their thoughts, detect the presence of mutants, separate his mind from his body and release powerful mind blasts. He can also cloud people's perceptions and direct their thoughts to some degree. Xavier has advanced talents in genetics, electronics and engineering.

So far in this RP, Professor X is a mix of the comicverse and movieverse incarnations, currently lacking the sinister undertones of the comic Xavier.

Ororo Munroe Ororo Munroe
Alias: Storm
First Appearance: Page 1, 16 June 2001, 10:10pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 30. Ororo Munroe is a faculty member at the Institute, specializing in history, and also serves as a mentor to the young mutants, guiding them in the use of their powers. Munroe currently has 3 students assigned to her as part of Xavier's mentor program: Robert Drake, St, John Allerdyce, and Cassandrea Reina.

Storm's powers tie her to the Earth and all things natural. Munroe is able to summon extreme weather conditions, including storm clouds, hurricane-strength winds, blizzards and lightning. Her room is filled with plants, using her powers to make it rain indoors when she needs to water them. Because allowing her powers to run free could cause untold damage, Storm must keep her emotions in check. She is therefore outwardly serene. If she were to lose control of her emotions, all manner of weather-related catastrophes could happen.

Logan Logan
Alias: Wolverine
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 1, 9 july 2001, 1:58am EST; Page 1, 14 july 2001, 10:44am EST

Canadian citizen. Age unknown. Logan is currently involved with Rogue. A star member of the X-Men, Logan's long, checkered, and mostly forgotten past remains a mystery to him. Logan is a faculty member at the Institute, teaching self-defense and tactical combat. He currently has 2 students assigned to him as part of Xavier's mentor program: Max Stockard and Sarah Carmody.

Wolverine possesses heightened senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than that of a normal human. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Logan can use these enhanced senses to track anyone, with an impressive degree of success. He possesses retractable claws that are housed in his forearms. At will, Wolverine can release these claws through his skin between the knuckles on each hand. Wolverine also possesses an accelerated healing factor based on his physiology. While most normal humans heal injuries over a long period of time, Wolverine's healing factor speeds up that natural process. He was subjected to a series of procedures that bonded the unbreakable metal Adamantium to his skeleton.

Rogue Marie
Alias: Rogue
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 1, 16 June 2001, 10:10pm EST; Page 1, 9 july 2001, 1:58am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 23. Currently involved with Logan. Marie has been living at the Institute since she was 16.

By merely touching another person's exposed flesh, Rogue can incorporate their powers and memories for a time. The period upon which the abilities are assumed by her is dependent on how long flesh-to-flesh contact is maintained. Unfortunately, Rogue can not turn this power on or off which is why she wears gloves most of the time.

In this RP, we are using an older version of movieverse Rogue.

Jean Grey-Summers Doctor Jean Grey-Summers
Alias: none
First Appearance: Page 1, 18 july 2001, 2:50am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 35. Married to Scott Summers. Charles Xavier's first student and founding member of the X-Men. Next to Professor X, Jean is thought to be Earth's strongest and most talented telepaths. Dr. Grey-Summers serves as the Institute's resident physician and researcher.

Jean Grey-Summers can read people's thoughts, project thoughts and launch mental attacks. She can also create a mental force shield warding off physical attacks. Using her mind, she can also can move objects and fly.

In this RP we have movieverse Jean. We have Jean issues.

Scott Summers Scott Summers
Alias: Cyclops
First Appearance: Page 1, 26 july 2001, 11:42pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 28. Married to Jean Grey. Founding member of the X-Men and their current leader. Summers is a successful pilot and can fly spacecrafts and aircrafts. He is a faculty member at the Institute, teaching mechanical repair.

Forced to wear a special ruby quartz visor or pair of glasses to contain his power, Cyclops' eyes continually emit an unknown red energy. Using his combat visor, Cyclops can direct the energy into a solid beam. By "banking" the beam off other objects, Cyclops is able to hit various targets with one blast.

Warren Worthington III Warren Worthington III
Alias: Archangel
First Appearance: briefly mentioned on Page 1, 26 july 2001, 11:42pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Worthington is a recent edition to the faculty, teaching economics and math.

Warren Worthington is a mutant who can fly by means of natural wings, which span 16 feet from tip to tip. Archangel's entire anatomy is adapted for flight: His bones are hollow like a bird's, his body is virtually devoid of fat, he possesses greater proportionate muscle strength than a normal human, his eyes can withstand high-speed winds, and a special membrane in his respiratory system allows him to extract oxygen from the air at extreme velocities and altitudes.

St. John Allerdyce St. John Allerdyce
Alias: Pyro
First Appearance: Page 2, 27 June 2001, 12:41am EST

Citizen of the United States. Born in Australia. Age 23.

Though he can't generate it himself, Pyro can manipulate fire to do his bidding. Pyro's mastery is so grand that he can form complex shapes and even creatures out of ordinary flame. His reliance on pre-existing fire to fuel his power is his foremost weakness.

Robert Drake Robert Drake
Alias: Iceman
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 1, 16 June 2001, 10:10pm EST, Page 8, 22 September 2001, 5:17am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 22. Drake is the class clown.

Freezing the very air around him, Iceman's powers are only limited by his imagination. In the past he has manufactured ice shields, weapons, ramps (on which he slides at great speeds) and violent ice, snow storms. He's frozen humans and objects alike. He has also fired razor sharp ice daggers from his fingertips.

Jubilation Lee Jubilation Lee
Alias: Jubilee
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 1, 16 June 2001, 10:10pm EST; Page 2, 27 June 2001, 12:41am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 22. Lee shares a residence at the Institute with her best friend, Katherine Pryde, and is currently involved with Remy Lebeau. She is a proud mallrat and rebellious towards authority. Lee can best be described as energetic, spunky, and talkative. She is always dressed in yellow.

Jubilee is able to generate multicolored, explosive "globs" of energy. These so-called fireworks can inflict damage and blind her foes.

The Jubilee featured in this RP is heavily influenced by fanfic characterization in the WR fandom. For pure Jubes fun, visit Cheeto Run.

Katherine Pryde Katherine Pryde
Alias: Shadowcat
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 1, 16 June 2001, 10:10pm EST; Page 2, 27 June 2001, 12:41am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 22. Pryde shares a residence at the Institute with best friend, Jubilation Lee. She is a whiz at electronics and computer hardware an software design.

Shadowcat is capable of moving through solid objects. She must concentrate and can only maintain the "phase" for as long as she can hold her breath. Through intense training, she has learned to walk on air, disrupt electrical equipment and phase other people out with her touch.

For the purpose of this RP, we're using a combination of the shy, reserved Kitty shown in the movieverse (and movieverse fanfic) and the spunky girl featured in the comicverse.

Henry McCoy Doctor Henry McCoy
Alias: Beast
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 2, 27 June 2001, 12:41am EST, Page 8, 16 September 2001, 3:19pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 28. McCoy possesses a high expertise in genetics and biochemistry, as well as extensive knowledge in a variety of other fields. He is an active member of the X-Men as well as serving as a research scientist at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.

Beast's mutation is characterized by shaggy blue fur, unusually large hands and feet, pointed ears, fang-like teeth. Besides superhuman strength, speed and agility, the Beast boasts the acrobatic prowess of an accomplished circus aerialist and acrobat.

Remy LeBeau Remy LeBeau
Alias: Gambit
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 2, 29 July 2001, 1:46am EST

Citizen of the United States with a criminal record. Age 23. Currently involved with Jubilation Lee. LeBeau is bilingual in English and French. Gambit's eyes have been this way since birth.

Gambit's eyes are red irises on black sclera, having been that way since bith, and are also known to glow and sparkle in conjunction with the use of his mutant powers and his moods. Through physical contact, Gambit can convert an object's potential energy into kinetic energy. In his hands, even the most benign implement becomes an exploding projectile. However, he most often relies on kinetically charged playing cards.

Kurt Wagner Kurt Wagner
Alias: Nightcrawler
First Appearance: Page 2, 1 August 2001, 11:17am EST

German citizen. Age 21. Currently involved with Cassandrea Reina. His unusual physical characteristics include indigo-colored fur, a prehensile tail, pointed ears, fang-like canine teeth, three-fingered hands and two-toed feet. Wagner is bilingual in German and English.

Nightcrawler can teleport himself, his clothing and a certain amount of additional mass from one point to another almost instantaneously. He leaves behind smoke and the smell of burning brimstone, actually atmosphere from the unknown dimension through which he travels. Nightcrawler's infallible spatial awareness enables him to avoid teleporting into solid matter, which could cripple or kill him. As a result, he generally teleports only to places he can see or those he knows well. Through practice, Nightcrawler has increased the amount of mass he can teleport with him.

The Kurt featured in this RP is a combination of the original comicverse character and the new, teenage incarnation seen in X-Men: Evolution.

Raven Darkholm Raven Darkholm
Alias: Mystique
First Appearance: Page 4, 9 August 2001, 12:19am EST

Citizenship unknown. Age unknown. Mystique is a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants. Outward manifestations of her mutation include blue skin and yellow, pupil-less eyes. Mystique is Rogue's biological mother, a fact she has not, as of yet, shared with Rogue. (Thanks, for remembering that, Jen!)

A mutant metamorph, Mystique can psionically shift the atoms and molecules of her body and clothing so as to mimic the appearance of any human, humanoid or semi-humanoid being of either sex. Her control is so precise she can exactly replicate another person's retina, finger, palm and skin-pore patterns; even vocal cords are not beyond her ability to duplicate.

Erik Lehnsherr Erik Magnus Lehnsherr
Alias: Magneto
First Appearance: mentioned on Page 4, 9 August 2001, 12:19am EST; Page 4, 12 August 2001, 7:44pm EST

Citizenship unkown. Age unknown. The antithesis of everything Charles Xavier stands for, Lehnsherr is one of the most powerful and deadly villains the world has ever seen. A survivor of the Holocaust, his view of the world was forever changed by the racism he experienced during World War Two. Lehnsherr escaped to Israel where he first encountered Charles Xavier. Though the two agreed on preventing a similar fate from befalling mutants, their methods of doing so were drastically different. While Xavier believed in educating the public through peaceful means, Lehnsherr saw mutants as the superior race. It is his view that mutants should unite and forcibly wrest control of the Earth, creating the Brotherhood Of Mutants to bring about this end.

Magneto is a mutant with the ability to shape and manipulate magnetic fields, both natural and artificial. Using his powers to augment his strength, he can lift up to 100 tons. Magneto also possesses minor psychic skills, such as the ability to create a mental barrier against psionic attack and read minds on a basic level.

For this RP, Magneto is closer to the movieverse portrayal.

Victor Creed Victor Creed
Alias: Sabretooth
First Appearance: Page 4, 12 August 2001, 7:44pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age unknown. Creed is ruthless, psychotic, lethal, and savage - a cold-blooded assassin for hire who is currently affiliated with the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Sabretooth's superhuman senses of smell and taste make him a deadly hunter. He can also see in the dark and has razor-sharp fangs and claws. Like Wolverine, Sabretooth heals faster than a normal human being from wounds or illnesses.

Lorna Dane Lorna Dane
Alias: Polaris
First Appearance: Page 5, 18 August 2001, 10:51am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 27. The only outward manifestation of her mutancy is her green hair. Dane was born with the latent genetic potential for magnetic powers, but certain genetic factors were absent which would have allowed her to exercise those powers. She was kidnapped and put in a genetic stimulator, allowing her to access her latent powers. Shortly afterward, she was brainwashed and led to believe she was the daughter of Magneto. She is currently a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Polaris possesses the ability to manipulate magnetic fields of power. While she has the potential to achieve the same effects with her abilities as Magneto does with his, Polaris' power levels are considerably lower. She can generate magnetic force fields to protect herself and others. She can levitate heavy objects - the greater the iron content of the object, the easier she finds it to manipulate. She can also sever the gravimetric lines of force around herself enabling her to deflect gravity and move in controlled flight.

Alison Blaire Alison Blaire
Alias: Dazzler
First Appearance: Page 14, 31 January 2002, 4:44pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 22. Currently attending Sarah Lawrence college.

Dazzler has the mutant ability to absorb sound and transform it into light (in various forms). Over time, she has been able to store excess energy for an undetermined time. Dazzler can will the light out of her body by concentrating, allowing her to fire blasts of light from her eyes and fingers. She can also make a powerful strobe blast that can blind her opponents, as well as creating emotional altering glow around herself. Her powers cannot blind herself and will cause her to glow if she doesn't concentrate enough. Ironically, Dazzler cannot use her own voice to power her mutant talent, so she sometimes carries a CD player with her to provide energy for her mutation.

Ben Johnson Ben Johnson
Alias: None
First Appearance: Page 14, 18 February 2002, 11:21pm EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 19. Currently attending Sarah Lawrence College, majoring in English.

Special glands in Ben's throat allow him to create and basically projectile vomit a sticky, black, tar-like substance. This substance is extremely difficult to remove from skin and hair, much like petroleum-based tar.

His current whereabouts are unknown and he is presumed dead.

Image Not Available Hector Redonza
Alias: Wraith
First Appearance: Page 17, 12 April 2002, 2:17am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 13.

Alias: Husk, Cornfield, Roulette
First Appearance: Page 17, 12 April 2002, 2:17am EST

Citizen of the United States. Age 12. She came to the Academy with her older brother, Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball, who is currently away on special assignment.

Paige possesses a transitional bodimorphing ability that alters the submolecular structure of her body underneath her skin. This allows her to shed her outer epidermis to reveal a new form with greater strength, speed, durability, or other new features. In some instances she is able to alter her mass to change into a bird or an insect.

Emma Frost Emma Frost
Alias: The White Queen
First Appearance: Page 18, 21 May 2002, 2:26am EST

Citizen of the United Kingdom. Born in England. Age 36. Frost is the headmistress at the Hellfire Academy. She inherited a good deal of wealth, but most of her large fortune resulted from her professional success. She ascended rapidly to the upper echelon of the business world on the strength of her intelligence, drive and personal charm...and the secret use of her psionic abilities. Eventually, Frost became majority stockholder of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate principally involved in electronics and transportation. She was named chairwoman of the board and chief executive officer of the rechristened Frost International.

Emma Frost possesses various telepathic talents, including the ability to read minds and influence the thoughts of others.

The version of Emma Frost featured in this RP is a bit different from the comic-verse version. She grew up in England, while the comicverse version did not. This is pre-diamond form and Emma has a strong dislike for Xavier. The Hellfire Academy is the old Hellfire Club Mansion, which is located in Massachusetts, not New York. The first group of Hellions are dead.

Callisto Callisto
Real Name Unknown
First Appearance: Page 21, 19 June 2002, 12:48am EST

Citizenship unknown. Age unknown. Former leader of the subterranean Morlocks, Callisto is currently an instructor at the Hellfire Academy teaching courses in tactics and strategy. She once was a beautiful young woman; it has not been revealed how she lost her right eye or acquired the scar on her face.

Domino Domino
Real Name Unknown; often goes by the alias Beatrice
First Appearance: Page 21, 19 June 2002, 12:48am EST

Citizenship unknown. Age unknown. Her nickname and subsequent codename are in reference to her white skin and the black dot surrounding her left eye. Little has been revealed about the early life of the mysterious mutant now called Domino. However, her long and distinguished career as a covert operative has been documented to a certain extent. She has acted both as an agent of various organizations and governments, and as a freelance mercenary. Domino is currently an instructor at the Hellfire Academy, teaching several forms of martial arts.

Domino is a mutant with psionic control over luck-altering probability fields, stacking the odds in her favor. An experienced military operative, Domino augments her superhuman abilities with various conventional firearms.

Rahne Sinclair Rahne Sinclair
Alias: Wolfsbane
First Appearance: Page 21, 19 June 2002, 12:48am EST

Citizen of the United Kingdom. Born in Scotland. Age 16. Currently enrolled at the Hellfire Academy.

Wolfsbane is a mutant metamorph who can transform herself into a wolf, while retaining most of her human intelligence, or into a transitional form which combines both human and lupine aspects. Her wolf form always has the same physical characteristics, which are those of an adult wolf. Although Wolfsbane can transform herself into a wolf, she is not a werewolf. She has the same vulnerabilities to injury as a normal wolf does when she is in lupine form. Wolfsbane's transformations are brought about only as a conscious act of will on her part, although it is possible that she might turn into a wolf without willing to do so if she were sufficiently frightened.

Clarice Ferguson Clarice Ferguson
Alias: Blink
First Appearance: Page 21, 19 June 2002, 12:48am EST

Citizen of the United Kingdom. Born in Scotland. Age 17. Currently enrolled at the Hellfire Academy. Her unusual physical characeristics include lavender skin with darker facial markings, pointed ears, dark fuschia hair, and white eyes.

Blink possesses the ability to generate teleportation warps, allowing her to displace people and objects. Her effective range is to the moon and back. Also, Blink can manifest the energy for her portals in the form of short javelins, which cause their targets to teleport. She uses this power offensively and defensively.

Sarah Rushman Sarah Rushman
Alias: Marrow
First Appearance: Page 21, 19 June 2002, 12:48am EST

No citizenship. Age 16. Sarah was born in the Morlock tunnels and thus is not a registered citizen of the United States. She is currently enrolled at the Hellfire Academy.

Marrow's hyper-accelerated metabolism speeds up the growth factors of her body, increasing her strength, agility, reflexes, and regenerative properties. The ability also allows her bones to grow on command into hand-held blades, projectile quills, or a fast-growing body armor.
